Amore A Prima Vista!

Restaurant: RPM Italian
In case you were wondering, yes I took the time to translate "love at first sight" in Italian on my computer for the title of this post, I mean serious business. I brought my family here last weekend who happens to be Italian and with that have some serious standards for cookin'. They are STILL raving about their experience at RPM. We started off with the provolone-stuffed peppers and a plate of the spicy capicola, if you do not order these upon arrival I will be personally offended. They are unbelievably tasty with just the right amount of kick. For my main entree the server recommended several dishes, but my heart was set on the Spicy King Crab Squid Ink Spaghetti. I was very impressed with the amount of crab and surprisingly the portion size! They give you just the right amount and not too much which I feel like a lot of restaurants have lots sight of. My dad ordered the classic Spaghetti and Meatball and my step-mom decided on the Maine Lobster Ravioli...both of which were outstanding! Not to mention our service was some of the best I've had in Chicago...RPM was definitely a success!

Restaurant: Anchor and Hope
All hail to the king of fried calamari. This is seriously the best I have ever had...and a thai chili dipping sauce? Lets get real, this place is a game changer! When it came time to order my sandwich I had a serious case of the indecisive Irene's. Finally I was able to zero in on the Blackened Alabama Catfish topped with fried green tomatoes and tabasco aioli, double yum I know. Needless to say it was perfectly fresh with a great presentation. If you're looking for great service and succulent seafood, Anchor And Hope is waiting for you!

Top of the line tapas

Restaurant: Tavernita
I recently went here for a large birthday gathering with a preselected menu full of tasty tapas. To be quite honest, everything came out so quickly(can't complain!) that half of the time I didn't even know what I was eating and heck, I'm ok with that. Sometimes the fun is in the mystery! I really enjoyed the atmosphere and our service was fabulous! I would highly recommend Tavernita for a large gathering.

California Dreaming....of burritos!

Restaurant: Sushiritto
Let me just say that never in my wildest foodie dreams did I ever imagine someone combining the convenience of a burrito with the deliciousness of sushi. I was wrong! Say hello to Sushiritto. Disclaimer: You will become addicted. After drooling over the menu for a good ten minutes I decided to go with the Geisha’s Kiss. This little wonder was made up of hand-caught yellowfin tuna, tamago, piquillo peppers, yuzu tobiko, lotus chips, cucumber, avocado(I’m sold!), green onions and dun dun dunnnn sesame seeds! I wanted something with a little kick and a lot of avocado... boy was it a success. I wish I could say that Sushiritto exceeded my expectations, but who are we kidding? I knew it would be magic. I hereby declare the marriage between sushi and burritos to last a lifetime. Go get ‘em!

Authentic & Affordable...my kind of place!

Restaurant: El Matate
I’m convinced that my mother sprinkled a liking for Mexican in my baby food at an early age. No matter the circumstances, I am always game to try a new taco place. The first judge of any Mexican eatery is always the salsa. El Matate did not disappoint with their homemade recipe of awesomeness and fresh tortilla chips. When it came time for decisions, I opted for the fish tacos and boy were they the real deal. Also, be sure not to leave until you have tried their fruit salsa, it’s a game changer. El Matate receives my triple F award: fast, flavorful, and filling !
