Another great menu by Bill Kim

Restaurant: BellyQ
I'm an Urban Belly regular so when I heard of this new venture by Bill Kim, I anxiously awaited its opening. As I expected, I was not disappointed. The service and wait times could be improved (we waited until 9 PM for an 8 PM reservation for 3 people) but the food is definitely on point. BEST dish in my opinion was the BellyQ beef. You must try this! We had 4 or 5 other dishes, including one of the pancake dishes - I believe these change daily/weekly. Looking forward to going back and trying more of the menu! I would strongly advise making a reservation - this is def. a hot spot!

Brunch Experience

Restaurant: Old Town Social
Came here for brunch on Labor Day weekend and sat inside. Mimosas and bloody marys were great - which was perfect because we got a chance to knock down a few before our food arrived (the kitchen was running a little slow this day). The manager was great and offered us a free round of drinks because we waiting awhile for our food to come out. We split the pretzel bites and mac n' cheese and I ordered a special brunch item, turkey pastrami hash. I have been here for dinner as well and definitely recommend their cheese and charcuterie plates. They cure all the meats in-house which I love.

Impressive menu

Restaurant: J. Parker
A group of friends and I came here on Labor Day for a special occasion dinner. We wanted a hip, outdoor spot with great food and drinks. I had been here for previously for drinks and was really excited to try the food. The menu concept is interesting, you choose one item from list "A" and pair it with up to 3 items from list "B". Their menu is constantly changing, which is why they don't post it online. Our server was AMAZING and helped us out with pairings - my personal favorite was the trout with pea shoots and lemon/herb butter. SO GOOOOOD! I cannot wait to come back here and introduce a new group of friends to this style of dining. The view isn't too shabby either :)

Top notch service and meal

Restaurant: Benu
I was so excited to come here as I've heard amazing things about French Laundry and Chef Cory Lee. The host and waitstaff were incredible and very attentive. I went on a weekend for the 17 course tasting menu - all of which was tasty but my top three dishes were the fish & lobster dish, duck dish and beef dish which came at the end of the meal (savory courses). A lot of the dishes had an Asian influence, which I also enjoyed. I left feeling satisfied - and full :)

Great ambiance for dinner

Restaurant: Balena
A fan of the BOKA Group restaurants, I was excited to go to Balena. Service was top notch, wine list amazing and appetizers were tasty! I didn't come on an empty belly so we only ordered a few apps. First we ordered the Seafood Salad with Golden Raisins, Arugula - a large portion, great to share. We then had their special fish (the waitress compared it to tuna) which you could tell was wild caught after taking the first bite. Lastly we had the Tuscan Kale Salad, tonnato, sardines, croutons which I loved despite being weird about eating sardines. I would love to come back and try more dishes from the dinner menu and also The Balena - a large platter of meats and cheeses for $30.
