RPM Italian

In case you were wondering, yes I took the time to translate "love at first sight" in Italian on my computer for the title of this post, I mean serious business. I brought my family here last weekend who happens to be Italian and with that have some serious standards for cookin'. They are STILL raving about their experience at RPM. We started off with the provolone-stuffed peppers and a plate of the spicy capicola, if you do not order these upon arrival I will be personally offended. They are unbelievably tasty with just the right amount of kick. For my main entree the server recommended several dishes, but my heart was set on the Spicy King Crab Squid Ink Spaghetti. I was very impressed with the amount of crab and surprisingly the portion size! They give you just the right amount and not too much which I feel like a lot of restaurants have lots sight of. My dad ordered the classic Spaghetti and Meatball and my step-mom decided on the Maine Lobster Ravioli...both of which were outstanding! Not to mention our service was some of the best I've had in Chicago...RPM was definitely a success!

This place is sleek, cool and has a buzz that most restaurants would kill for. This is the perfect place to go with friends and seems to have its share of tourist milling around hoping to get a glance at Giuliana & Bill. The food and drinks are solid but the star of the show has to be their homemade pasta dishes. I have been in a pasta drought since Terragusto closed and can finally say I have found its replacement. The marna depandi's bucatini pomodor and the Spicy king crab squid ink pasta are not to be missed. Hint: We did not have reservations but the bar and high top tables around the bar are first come first serve.

Went on a Tuesday night for a 5:30 dinner with my boyfriend...place was already busy having 368 on the books (I peeked at opentable) for a Tueday night! The decor is beautiful...very chic and sexy. The employees (servers, hosts etc.) look like Ford models. We were sat in a large, comfy booth. Our server, Chris A. was so adorable! He addressed us with a smile and explained the menu and drink program very well. He definitely made us feel welcome. I started off with a cocktail...Gin, St. Germain and Amaro served up...very good...followed up with a glass of a Super Tuscan... We had the Beef Carpacio, Grilled Octopus (super tender) and Mushroom Pizzette (our fav) We ordered 2 pastas: King Crab spicy spaghetti...just the right amount of spice, and Duck Agnolotti...creamy and delicious. For dessert we ordered the Tartufo...imagine a huge Ferrero Rocher stuffed with Hazelnut and Chocolate Gelato...crazy good; as well as the Baked Cannoli...also very good. This place is great for a date night or a business dinner, as they have a 2 party rooms. Great food...awesome staff...We will definitely be back. Thanks Chris A. for a memorable dining experience

From the lobster caprese to the MEATBALLS (literally salivating thinking about them now.... Mmmmm), every bite had me smiling wanting more... I can not wait eating more of the 30 dishes I was lucky enough to devour during friends and family night (Thx Rich, G and B!). The environment and atmosphere is one I truly felt at home in and literally loved... relaxing, upscale and contemporary - yet not stuffy whatsoever. The bar scene is pretty sweet too (both bars). This resto is a must!! You will LOVE.
